In our Journey, the end is coming….sometimes far faster than we can think…death!  Jesus says we can yield a great harvest if we, like a grain of wheat, die to ourselves and planted in the ground…yield “a great harvest.”   John 12:23-26

I like to be in control of my life.  I like to make my own decisions.   I like to decide how to spend my money.   But many times in controlling my life, I make bad decisions, wrong assessments, or burden myself with more work than was needed.  Sometimes I try fixing something and I should have just called for help from someone who knew what they were doing.

A few years ago, I left for many months, and came back to a few potatoes in a bag which were smelly and useless.  I decided to cut them up and plant them.   For each planted piece, I got several smaller potatoes (end of the fall).  Dying to “themselves” they yielded “a great harvest.”

On my Journey, I am giving myself over to Jesus, dying to self, and living to Him and for Him.  It is not easy to do, but each time I do, I find my life more fulfilled.  Results are much better!
